Compliance Committees

Compliance committees are responsible for the monitoring, assessment and reporting of the company’s compliance arrangements (consider your compliance obligations under your ACL and AFSL, the Corporations Act, ASIC Act, etc.).  Compliance committees often enlist the expertise of external legal advisers to assist with the creation, management and continual improvement of their businesses’ compliance schemes.  See this article about the crucial role compliance committees have in establishing a healthy compliance culture.

Do you have a compliance committee that would benefit from some inside legal knowledge?  We can help!  We have several compliance gurus who have extensive experience dealing with ASIC, ACCC, AUSTRAC and the Corporations Act and who sit on compliance committees.

Also, if you are the responsible entity of a registered managed investment scheme, then you must have a formally established, independent compliance committee (unless half of your board are independent directors).
